1. The more you use toaster ovens and slow cookers, instead of the oven or stove, the more energy you'll save.

2. Clean and well-maintained appliances operate more efficiently.

3. Place small appliances in an area where air flows freely around the outside.

4. Don't overfill the toaster oven. You'll use less electricity if air is flowing freely around the food.

5. Extend your cooking times when using a slow cooker.

6. Heat only the amount of water that you need and use an electric kettle; it's more efficient than using a stove element or microwave.
