The commitment of EDZ to maintain the highest standards of value in all its activities drives EDZ to plan and follow the best of quality systems in the sector of electricity distribution.
This dedication to such stringent standards has been further strengthened by the ISO certification, making EDZ the first Lebanese electricity utility to be awarded, for the entire company structure, the certification of Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with the EN ISO 9001:2003 requirements.
The certification of the Quality Management System was acquired in May 1st, 2003 under the objectives of:

  • Emphasize on supplying the customers with reliable, uninterrupted and quality electric power.
  • Provide consistent, prompt and value added services for an increased satisfaction of the customer.
  • Create effective policies, vision and mission communicated and implemented throughout the company and acknowledge skilled competitive department management.
  • Ensure continuous improvement in systems, whether electrical projects or IT services, by incorporating the latest technology and conforming to national and international standards.
  • Build and maintain highly motivated, trained and experienced professionals to value and meet the changing needs of technology.
  • Set measurable, manageable and confirmable quality goals and performance guidebooks by the various departments.
  • Reinforce partnership with the services and product suppliers to EDZ.

The certification body of the Quality Management System of EDZ is the International group Bureau Veritas accredited by the U.S. accreditation body for management systems ANAB, ANSI-ASQ National Accreditation Board, and one of the first quality certification bodies in Lebanon.
